Since February 2017, Pablo is a research scientist at Google DeepMind. His main research interests include the areas of signal processing, machine learning, and their application to computer vision, audio processing, and music information retrieval. Specifically projects involving deep learning, sparse modeling and representation learning from high dimensional data.
He was a postdoctoral researcher in Yann LeCun’s group at the CILVR Lab (Computational Intelligence, Learning, Vision, and Robotics), between May 2014 and December 2016. He obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in October 2012; he was born in Stuttgart, Germany, but grew up in Montevideo.
